Renaming categories

I'd want to know your reasoning for separating the Forest/Jungle terrain creatures category into different categories for forests and jungles. Jungles are warm forests so PFWiki combined them and SFWiki did the same thing. I'm guessing: are you familiar with PF or PFWiki? - HTD (talk) 15:04, 26 October 2018 (UTC)
- Although jungles are warm forests, not all warm forests are jungles. I thought they should be sparate, even on PFWiki it's confusing to have them mixed together. —This unsigned post was made by Atouru. Please sign all posts with ~~~~.
- Forest and jungle terrains are often combined in Pathfinder's mechanics, particularly around creature environments. I don't know whether Starfinder does the same as consistently. Since those categories are primarily mechanical in nature, and Starfinder and Pathfinder are different game systems, it's OK for those categories to diverge on SFW if the mechanics also diverge.
- I'll copy this discussion to Category talk:Forest/Jungle terrain creatures and post a thread in the SFW forums linking to that talk page. That might also help draw some broader discussion on it. -Oznogon (talk) 23:09, 26 October 2018 (UTC)
- If consensus is that it's best not to combine warm forest and jungle into one category here, it may also be worth bringing up on PFW as well. There's no reason we can't revise existing guidelines for a better practice on either project.— Yoda8myhead (talk) 23:47, 26 October 2018 (UTC)
Another question is, do we separate marsh and swamp terrains? According to the Core Rulebook (pg.397-398), there's a little bit of difference in them. - Atouru (talk) 05:49, 27 October 2018 (UTC)
- Marshes and swamps probably yes, but I don't really see enough difference between warm forests and jungles that would necessitate the separation of categories. - HTD (talk) 07:53, 27 October 2018 (UTC)
