Oras, the Agent of Change, is a genderless deity of evolution who transcended its rudimentary beginnings to embody the natural forces of genetic development and adaptation.1

Dogma

Oras teaches that evolution occurs due to pressures, both external and internal, to adapt to an ever-changing universe. As such, worshipers of Oras believe existence is best experienced in a constant state of individual change that can take on any form, from physical to spiritual, as well as through constant exploration. Some changes are not beneficial, but those that are will strengthen the organism, making it more likely to survive.1

Relationships

Oras and the goddess Hylax have a tentative friendship driven by curiosity and interest in evolution. Oras considers some Hylaxians, who create their own castes or evolve themselves, as its natural followers. Hylax often consults Oras on the nature of mutations, but Oras has yet to reveal the truth behind how the shirrens broke away from the Swarm.2

Church

Oras' chuch is centered in the Pact Worlds system on the gas giants Bretheda and Liavara, whose native barathus long ago mastered conscious control over their form. Oras also has plentiful followers among the scientists of the planet Castrovel.1

Temples

Oras has few temples as its followers believe the god's touch can best be observed in a petri dish or through the changes to a society rather than in an artificial building. Those temples that do exist often are partially biological and are constantly changing form.1

Worshipers

Oras is popular among scientists and biotechnicians, as well as xenodruids who act like the religion's priests. The Augmented have demonstrated significant overlap with Oras' faithful as they strive to improve themselves using technology instead of biology. The Xenowardens have created a blend of Oras' beliefs and the Green Faith in order to create stronger and more sustainable systems to reduce their ecological footprints. Finally, anyone who finds value in the concept of adaptability can find themselves drawn to Oras' teachings, be they politicians or military commanders.1
