Giant space tardigrades are simple living starship-sized magical beasts and among the universe's most durable creatures. They can survive exposure to vacuum, intense pressure, and extreme hot or cold; are unaffected by radiation or electromagnetic pulses; and can naturally regenerate. They are can survive nearly any natural phenomenon, whether through withstanding direct exposure or by shriveling into a dessicated hibernative state, can consume nearly any kind of matter as food, and can drift for decades between meals and survive for centuries.
