Desna's Path is the galaxy that includes the Pact Worlds system.1

Astrography

Desna's Path is a spiral galaxy, named after the goddess Desna not only because she is the goddess of stars, but because the galaxy's four primary arms evoke the rough shape of a butterfly, Desna's sacred animal. It is approximately 10 billion years old, measures 90,000 light-years across, and contains an estimated 250 billion stars or star-like objects as well as thousands of nebulae. The four arms spin around a supermassive black hole known as Old Rovagug, around which star density is the greatest.1 Surrounding Desna's Path is the Fray, home to the Dominion of the Black, whose legions often prey upon the perilous galactic rim.2

Intergalactic neighbourhood

For millions of years, Desna's Path has intersected with Pharasma's Coil, a galaxy on the Ethereal Plane. Through the veil between planes, the two galaxies' passage is nearly imperceptible except for the Spirit Scar, an intersection that generates psychic interference, nightmares, hauntings and spontaneous undead reanimation.1

Desna's Path is part of the Ihys Supercluster alongside several hundred other galaxies, among which three, Gest, Aganhei, and Ophidian-2, orbit Desna's Path itself. It has so far avoided collisions with other galaxies, although there have been several close calls.13
